A Quarter at a Glance

Three months is a great planning window. It is long enough to see what is coming and short enough to stay focused. A 3-month calendar puts that whole stretch on one sheet.

The Four Quarters of 2027

Quarter Months Public holidays on the page
Q1 January to March New Year’s Day (1 Jan), Australia Day (26 Jan), Good Friday (26 Mar), Easter Monday (29 Mar)
Q2 April to June Anzac Day (25 Apr, with Monday 26 Apr in some states), King’s Birthday (14 June, most states)
Q3 July to September King’s Birthday (27 Sept, WA)
Q4 October to December King’s Birthday (4 Oct, QLD), Christmas Day (observed 27 Dec), Boxing Day (observed 28 Dec)

Because Easter is early in 2027, Q1 has four public holidays. Q3 has almost none outside WA, so it is a long stretch of full working weeks.

Planning BAS by Quarter

The ATO works with the financial year, which starts on 1 July. For quarterly BAS:

  • July to September 2027 (our Q3 page) is due 28 October.
  • October to December 2027 (Q4 page) is due 28 February 2028.
  • January to March 2027 (Q1 page) is due 28 April.
  • April to June 2027 (Q2 page) is due 28 July.

Write each due date on the right page and you will never be caught out.

Other Ways to Use It

  • School terms: one term per page, roughly.
  • Footy, netball or cricket season: training, games and finals on one sheet.
  • Trips: look three months ahead and book flights early.
